Tomori Aid Lantern Kit

Tomori Aid

Tomori Aid is a collapsible lighting kit that turns a flashlight into a soft lantern. The kit is made of cardboard and is assembled with a simple structure and simple fixing methods. Any flashlight of a suitable size can be used, so a failed flashlight can be replaced by another one. When folded, Tomori Aid fits within an A4 size and is easy to carry in a disaster prevention bag. When assembled, the lantern measures 260 mm in height and 170 mm on each side. The design is intended for use during evacuation and in daily life at home.

Tomori Aid Lantern Kit by YUJI YANAGISAWA was identified as an innovative representation of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Tomori Aid Lantern Kit won the Bronze A' Design Award in Lighting Products and Fixtures Design in 2022. The A' Lighting Products and Fixtures Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program which honors excellent design of chandeliers, pendant lights, wall sconces, table lamps, floor lamps, outdoor lights, recessed lights, track lights and more.
