This piece of furniture is more than a chair, it's also a collection of samples of 34 wooden species, from Brazil and all over the world; it's a chair one can learn about the diversity of this natural resource. The chair itself answers a question that the designer has been frequently asked in the last 35 years: Which wood is this? It's a comfortable chair that same people just sit down and some people read the names and start a conversation about wood.
Cadeira Chair by Álvaro Wolmer was selected as an outstanding illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Cadeira Chair was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2022. The A' Furniture Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design accolade which celebrates excellent design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
