Max
The search for a complexity synthesized in a few lines was the main inspiration for Max Chair. With clean design and precise lines, this piece is a response to a structural challenge with a combination of materials. The light and slender fiberglass shell rests over four metallic support joints, while locked at the base (with axes that cross each other in an X shape), with Sucupira wood covering the feet. Its seat and backrest are part of the same volume, covered in natural Solana leather, with many studies on ergonomy to find a proper curvature and compact visuals.
Max Chair by Arthur Casas has been recognized as a grand example of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Max Chair earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2022. The A' Furniture Design Award is a highly prestigious international design prize that rewards excellent design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
