Scallop
Scallop is a leisure chair inspired by the shape of an open scallop shell. The curved seat and backrest are made of stainless steel plate, while the legs and armrests are formed from hot bent stainless steel wire. All parts are joined by welding. The metal surface is treated with an imitation copper corrosion finish. The backrest is perforated to improve air flow and to reduce weight. Hand sewn leather armrest covers and a cushion are added for comfort. Scallop suits reading, tea drinking and office use, indoors and outdoors.
Scallop Leisure Chair by Wei Jingye / 魏靖野 was featured as an outstanding illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Scallop Leisure Chair received the Iron A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2022. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade which rewards superior design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
