Moonshine
Moonshine is a cafe interior designed in the style of Brutalism, located in Taipei. The space measures 5 by 20 meters and covers 100 square meters. Ornamentation is removed so that the materials remain the focus. Raw concrete, hammered surfaces, patterns made with a cement spatula and rounded corners define the interior. The patterns on the bar facade were formed with precast molds and then attached to the furniture. Seating at different heights, a long communal bar top and a bench support interaction, while the layout opens views from the street to the bean roasting area.
Moonshine Commercial Space by Muuk Design Associates was recognized as a creative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Moonshine Commercial Space received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade that celebrates superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
