Strings
Strings is a leisure chair made from bent metal tube. The design is inspired by musical strings, and the line-shaped tubes meet the ring-shaped outer contour, so the form has a beginning and an end. The main material is 304 stainless steel, which is hard and resistant to corrosion, so the chair is also suitable for outdoor use. The frame is shaped by blanking, bending, heating, stretching, welding and polishing. The curves follow the sitting posture of the body. The chair suits reading, drinking tea and resting.
Strings Leisure Chair by Wei Jingye / 魏靖野 was selected as an outstanding example of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Strings Leisure Chair received the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2022. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program which recognizes excellent design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
