Modern Oriental Simplicity

Modern Oriental Simplicity is a residential interior created for a family of three generations. Two units were combined into one spacious apartment. The symmetrical rectangular layout places the bedrooms on both sides, while the living room, the dining room and two kitchens sit in the centre to bring the family together. Traditional oriental elements from the owner's collection are presented in a modern and minimal style, within a black and white colour scheme. Chinese painting, music and poetry inspire the walls, the solid wood installation and the metal grilles.

Modern Oriental Simplicity Residential House by Chang Yi-Chung was selected as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition.
