Brazilian Modernism and Tropicalismo in a geometric body. With straight lines and congruous construction, Modello 09 holds a suspension design that creates an illusionary loop connecting seat, legs, back and arms in a distinctive manner. Built in solid Burmese hardwood teak, brass and cane webbing, the manufacturing process uniquely embraces marks and bruises as badges of honor of natural materials.
Modello 09 Chair by Cassiano Saldanha was recognized as an innovative illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Modello 09 Chair won the Silver A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2022. The A' Furniture Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize which rewards excellent design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
