The Changer Day and Day
The Changer Day and Day is a residential building located in Hsinchu City, Taiwan. White is used as the main color, in contrast with the earth tones and grey shades common in local metropolitan architecture. Balcony frames are painted in traditional Japanese kimono colors, including ice green, barely white, patrinia flower and arrow feather. Recessed windows and protruding balconies provide sun shading and reduce electricity use. Self-cleaning tiles limit the effects of dust and acid rain. The balconies are arranged so that every resident receives an equal view of the nearby sea.
The Changer Day and Day Residence by Changer Construction Co., Ltd has been selected as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. The Changer Day and Day Residence earned the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design award that celebrates excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
