Gilbam
Villa Gilbam is a residential house located on a mountain slope in the Siahkal region of northern Iran. The site covers about 750 square meters and falls about 10 percent from east to west. The house stands on the east of the land, on the same rectangle of about 8 by 15 meters where an earlier building once stood, so contact with the ground is limited. Two cantilevered volumes extend from the core at ground and first floor levels without touching the ground. The three volumes are angled to form a shared central space with views of the surrounding mountains.
Gilbam Residential House by Davood Boroojeni has been selected as an innovative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Gilbam Residential House earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2022. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design award which rewards exceptional design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
