Mode
Mode is an armchair with a simple, contemporary form and a classical feel that coexists. It consists of a long leg frame and a rounded shell panel. The leg frame has two different finishes, scratch and mirror, and the wood grain shell panel has a special finish that changes its color and texture depending on the angle. The wood grain shell panel has a sharp double-sided design, with the material switched between inside and outside. Mode is a comfortable armchair with a thin shell panel, so the seat is spacious even though the outer width is only 52cm, making it the most compact form ever.
Mode Armchair by Hitoshi Motomura has been identified as an exceptional illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Mode Armchair earned the Iron A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2022. The A' Furniture Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize that rewards exceptional design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
