Gregory Donut Packaging

Gregory Donut

Gregory Donut is a paper-based packaging design for donuts sold as take-away food. All visible paper is food contact grade. The sleeve is made of high tenacity FBB paper, coated with a water-based matt varnish that protects the ink and printed with food grade soy ink. A ninety degree rotational structure allows the packer to form the box quickly, so the packaging can be shipped flat. Each box holds six donuts, and two sleeve handle sizes suit six or twelve pieces. Navy blue graphics with donut and wheat illustrations recall sailor culture.

Gregory Donut Packaging by Jinglun Cui was identified as a creative example of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Gregory Donut Packaging was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2022. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize which celebrates exceptional design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
