Fly By Jing
Fly By Jing is a packaging design for a Sichuan chili crisp sauce sold in a glass jar. The design is rooted in tradition and shaped for the way people eat today. A striking color palette and a direct tone of voice set the packaging apart from other sauces on the market. Run-on sentences printed on the label describe the brand and break it down for the reader. The design reflects the values and purpose of the brand, which draws on the flavors of Chengdu and its small local eateries.
Fly By Jing Packaging by Jing Gao, Jazlyn Patricio-Archer, DayJob was recognized as an innovative illustration of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Fly By Jing Packaging was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2022. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program that rewards superior design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
