Guiyang New Community Park

Guiyang New Community Park is a public park in Guiyang, China. The park covers 130000 square meters beside the Laoma River. Interventions on the site were kept to a minimum, and most existing trees and ground covers were retained. Farming terraces were reintroduced using traditional construction methods. Low dry walls, stairs, paths and a large amphitheatre were built with local limestone. The design offers leisure areas for people of all ages while preserving the karst landform and the seasonal changes of the river.

Guiyang New Community Park Residential Exhibition Area by Hu Sun was selected as an exceptional illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Guiyang New Community Park Residential Exhibition Area won the Silver A' Design Award in Landscape Planning and Garden Design in 2022. The A' Landscape Planning and Garden Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design prize which honors exceptional design of landscape designs, public parks, residential gardens, urban plazas, campus designs, green roofs, waterfront developments, Eco-Parks, botanical gardens and more.
