Chu Yan
Chu Yan is a restaurant interior located at Shiliupu Wharf on the Bund in Shanghai, China. The space covers 2500 square meters and is arranged into individual guest areas, private rooms and a waiting area. A large LED wall at the entrance shows a live view of the Huangpu River. Artificial marble, insulating glass and laminated glass are used to reduce weight, block noise and save energy. Sound-absorbing panels and coatings further limit noise. An unfolded scroll image on the corridor ceiling connects the whole design.
Chu Yan Restaurant by Bo Chen has been recognized as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Chu Yan Restaurant won the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design recognition program which celebrates exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
