The Interplay of Light and Shadows
The Interplay of Light and Shadows is a residential interior design in Hsinchu City, Taiwan. The ancient philosophy of I-Ching is applied within a modern and minimalist home of 112.4 square meters. A black and white color scheme represents the harmony of yin and yang. Linear transitions symbolize constant change and create visual layers. Hexagrams representing Heaven, Earth, Family and Advancement are integrated into the large bookcase and the balcony wall. Light and shadow interact in the same balanced manner, so the home reflects the philosophy of life followed by the owner.
The Interplay of Light and Shadows Interior Design by Chen Chia Yu was highlighted as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award. The Interplay of Light and Shadows Interior Design received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design award which rewards exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
