Dance of Light
The Dance of Light is a residential interior for a two story home with a six meter tall space. A floating staircase fixed to the wall stands in front of large windows, reducing the volumes that block movement and forming an open square layout. Hanging timber steps and a glass railing let daylight filter through, while a section of glass flooring guides light to the second floor. The area under the staircase serves as a rest and play space. Integrating the bathroom and kitchen wall removes awkward corners and enlarges the usable area.
Dance of Light Residential Apartment by Ching Hsiang Peng was selected as a creative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Dance of Light Residential Apartment was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious international design accolade which recognizes outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
