Family Tree
Family Tree is a residential interior design for a forty-year-old house in the Feitsui Reservoir Protection Area of Xindian, Taiwan. The structure was assessed and reinforced to preserve the memories and stories of the building. The outer wall is finished with white glazed tiles and the flooring with stone mosaic. Marble floors and an open layout remove visual divisions, while a central spiral staircase creates a free flow of movement. Old materials, such as kaolinite from the former fence, were reused. Each area reflects the interests of one family member.
Family Tree Residential by Tzu-Yi Wang was featured as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Family Tree Residential received the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design recognition program that celebrates excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
