Realm of Tranquility
Realm of Tranquility is a residential interior of 82.7 square meters in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The design follows a Japanese Zen theme, with warm wood grain and stucco tones as the base. Woven rattan, woven board, solid wood strips, curved wood boards and terrazzo surfaces are combined, and wood is used as the connecting medium. The plaster finish is made from recycled reservoir silt and is waterproof and breathable. Arc-shaped ceiling sections and rounded wall corners conceal uneven beams and make the low space appear taller and brighter.
Realm of Tranquility Residence by Jung-Chieh Cheng was identified as a creative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Realm of Tranquility Residence earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious international design accolade that recognizes excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
