Oriental Mood
Oriental Mood is a residential interior design covering 1400 square meters in Shanghai. Water is treated as the first element of the scheme, following the linked land and water of the Jiangnan water garden. The first floor of the existing building already shared this rhythm, with rooms and trees set around a central pool. Images taken from the natural landscape are placed within the static architectural space, so details and time shape the mood of each room. Materials include metal board, rock board, ceramic tile, copper board, wood veneer and gypsum board.
Oriental Mood Residential Space by Haochen Su was identified as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Oriental Mood Residential Space earned the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design award which recognizes outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
