Magic
Magic is a table lamp inspired by the natural form of the Liberty Cap mushroom. The shade is 3D printed from plant based plastic, and light passing through the shade highlights the spiralling concentric lines left by the printing process. Mushroom like gills under the head are also 3D printed. The stem and base are hand carved from locally sourced hardwood, so every piece is unique. Three brightness levels are selected with a touch sensitive dimmer concealed in the base. The lamp measures 150 by 150 by 650 millimetres.
Magic Lamp by Daragh Enright has been featured as a creative example of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Magic Lamp won the Silver A' Design Award in Lighting Products and Fixtures Design in 2022. The A' Lighting Products and Fixtures Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition that celebrates superior design of chandeliers, pendant lights, wall sconces, table lamps, floor lamps, outdoor lights, recessed lights, track lights and more.
