Artika Horizon
Artika Horizon is a wristwatch that can also be carried in a pocket or worn around the neck. A cord on the strap replaces conventional strap parts, giving the watch a simple and reliable construction. The strap is closed with a special clip, and the clip turns the watch into a pendant that can be hung around the neck or tied to clothing. The case is made of metal and measures 43 mm in diameter and 9 mm in depth. Production is planned through additive manufacturing or CNC milling. The form was inspired by a black hole and its event horizon, and the cord symbolizes space bending around time.
Artika Horizon Wrist Watch by Albert Rakhimzhanov was identified as an outstanding illustration of fashion design by the A' Design Awards. Artika Horizon Wrist Watch won the Silver A' Design Award in Jewelry Design in 2021. The A' Jewelry Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition that celebrates outstanding design of rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, brooches, pendants, cufflinks, anklets and more.
