Embrace Site Specific Art

Embrace

Embrace is a site specific mural painted on a building facade in Sterlitamak. The mural is 27 meters high and 15 meters wide, with a painted surface of 405 square meters. Facade paints and paint rollers were used, and facade lifts allowed painting at height. The artistic work took three weeks. The story shown recalls a soldier of the 170th Sterlitamak infantry division who left for the front with a silver pocket watch and promised to return with it. His remains and the watch were found in 2015 and brought home to his wife.

Embrace Site Specific Art by Dmitry Kudinov has been selected as an exceptional representation of communication design by the A' Design Award. Embrace Site Specific Art earned the Iron A' Design Award in Fine Arts and Art Installation Design in 2021. The A' Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design recognition program that honors excellent design of sculptures, paintings, installations, photographs, drawings, mixed media works, ceramics, art objects, craftworks and more.
