Aurotek Technology
Aurotek Technology is a factory building located in Kunshan, Jiangsu, China. The 10344 square meter plant houses a mechanical assembly workshop, a clean room and supporting offices. The exterior is built from locally produced concrete hollow bricks and glass, arranged to form a breathable skin that provides natural lighting and self-shading. Buoyant ventilation windows increase natural air convection, and a green atrium moderates the indoor microclimate. Computational fluid dynamics was used to study ventilation. The design follows the three-star Chinese green building standard.
Aurotek Technology Factory by Peng Architects Inc. was identified as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Aurotek Technology Factory was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2021. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition which celebrates exceptional design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
