Kai Yuan
Kai Yuan is a hotel lobby interior located in Wuhan, China. The lobby covers 20000 square meters and rises to a height of 8 meters. A wind corridor porch at the entrance separates the busy city from the interior and opens a wide view. Tall cabinets and facing screen doors frame the arrival of guests and give the space a generous scale. Cyan and orange-red, drawn from local colors, define the palette. Wood, glass, metal and stone are the main materials. LED screens show changing visual art, adding movement to the quiet space.
Kai Yuan Hotel by Liang Fang was featured as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Kai Yuan Hotel was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize which honors exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
