Kyanyuan
Kyanyuan is a garden clubhouse set on the top floor of an old commercial building near the West Lake in Hangzhou. The interior covers 1,600 square meters and holds a dining area, a tearoom, a guest room area and an office area. Indoor and outdoor courtyards alternate, so each area stays separate yet connected. Solid wood, tiles, cobblestones, self-leveling cement and wide white textured surfaces create a quiet and bright setting. The floor slab was reinforced with steel plates, and shallow topsoil planting was applied to complete the green coverage.
Kyanyuan Club House by Wei Zhang has been recognized as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Kyanyuan Club House was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design award which recognizes excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
