East Travel
East Travel is a packaging design for baijiu, a traditional Chinese distilled spirit. The bottle uses a simple cylindrical glass form that is convenient for mass production. The cap is shaped after water ripples, a reference to the high quality water used in brewing. The label is made of special paper, and the illustration and the product name are bronzed. The outer packaging is made of pressed bagasse, the fibre left after the sugarcane is fermented, a material that degrades naturally. The design draws on Chinese folk culture and on traditional brewing methods.
East Travel Alcoholic Beverage Packaging by Wen Liu was featured as an outstanding example of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. East Travel Alcoholic Beverage Packaging received the Silver A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2021. The A' Packaging Design Award is a highly prestigious international design award which honors superior design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
