Doveil
Doveil is a brand experience center covering 800 square meters in Xiamen. The interior follows a minimal approach inspired by the abstract grid paintings of Piet Mondrian, in which black lines link fields of colour. Rock slab is used for the display props and for decorative surfaces. A void seven meters high marks the entrance and gives the hall a sense of ritual. A concrete beam in the front hall is left exposed to respect the original structure. Windows placed on the same line of sight connect the rooms and give the space depth and rich layers.
Doveil Experience Center by David Lee has been highlighted as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Doveil Experience Center earned the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design prize which honors exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
