WUSA
Wusa is a small electric motorcycle that also serves as a power unit for a manual wheelchair. The compact vehicle is intended for urban travel and leisure use. A sturdy steel frame holds a lightweight lithium-ion battery placed low and to the side, so the unit can be used with a wheelchair. Rear-wheel drive allows a top speed of 35 kilometers per hour, and a rear suspension with a long stroke adds comfort. Existing motorcycle parts can be fitted, so the vehicle can be customized. Wusa is designed to appeal to all riders, not only to wheelchair users.
WUSA Electric Personal Mobility by Anri Sugihara was identified as an exceptional example of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. WUSA Electric Personal Mobility received the Silver A' Design Award in Vehicle, Mobility and Transportation Design in 2021. The A' Vehicle, Mobility and Transportation Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design award which celebrates excellent design of cars, motorcycles, bicycles, trucks, buses, trains, ships, aircrafts and more.
