OO
OO is a residential interior design created through the renovation of a house that was forty years old. The three storey home covers 195 square meters and stands in a narrow alley in Kaohsiung. The facade carries openings arranged in a code like pattern and filled with glass bricks, so daylight enters while the interior stays secure. Materials include Japanese cypress, solid wood and formaldehyde free bamboo carbon paint. The staircase divides the space, and its landing is made of magnetic glass that also serves as a drawing surface.
OO House by Jianhe Wu was selected as an exceptional representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. OO House was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade which rewards excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
