Wenlan Mansion
Wenlan Mansion is a display center located near West Mountain and Dian Lake in Kunming, China. The site faces the mountain, offers an open view and is surrounded by ecological resources. The design uses the five meter height difference of the ground to create vertical spaces and an ascending view. The layout follows traditional Kunming courtyards, with axis symmetry and a front and back yard plan that divides the site into a cultural exhibition area, a water courtyard and a private garden. Stone and aluminum plate are used on the facade.
Wenlan Mansion Display Center by Quincy Li was highlighted as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Wenlan Mansion Display Center was awarded the Golden A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2021. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design award that recognizes outstanding design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
