SHINE ESTUARY
Shine Estuary is a community center located in the Oujiang New District of Wenzhou, China. The building is formed by three offset ellipsoid volumes that are superimposed upon each other, and a shared space connects the three volumes and links the whole building. The curved shapes recall the ripples made by fishing boats on the Oujiang River. Panels of ultra-white glass, measuring up to 2 by 6.15 meters, open the facade toward the water. Meeting rooms are placed on the third floor, which offers the best view of the river.
SHINE ESTUARY Community Center by Quincy Li has been featured as an outstanding representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. SHINE ESTUARY Community Center won the Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2021. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize which recognizes superior design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
