By Polar
By Polar is a short animation created for the winter of 2020. The story was inspired by a 2019 news report about a hungry and exhausted young polar bear seen wandering in the suburbs of the Siberian industrial city of Norilsk, hundreds of miles from its usual habitat. The animation focuses on the atmosphere and the mood of each scene, and music is used in place of spoken dialogue. All graphic elements were first illustrated on a tablet and a computer, then animated. By Polar recalls that some creatures are neglected in good and in harsh times.
By Polar Animation by Fong Lok Kee Rocky has been highlighted as an exceptional illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award.
