Outer Borough
Outer Borough is a free standing modular floor lamp designed to support a pendant luminaire. The lamp combines a high-strength cast concrete base with a double-leaf steam-bent oak arm. The concrete surface is densified, polished, sealed and burnished for a hard reflective finish. The arm is joined to the base with stainless steel spacers and black-oxide connectors. Assembly is done by two people in a few minutes, and adjustable feet correct uneven floors. The pendant plugs into the top of the base, next to a switch or dimmer. The platform can also hold pendants made by other designers.
Outer Borough Floor Lamp by Matthew Haseltine has been highlighted as a creative example of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Outer Borough Floor Lamp won the Iron A' Design Award in Lighting Products and Fixtures Design in 2021. The A' Lighting Products and Fixtures Design Award is a highly prestigious international design prize which rewards exceptional design of chandeliers, pendant lights, wall sconces, table lamps, floor lamps, outdoor lights, recessed lights, track lights and more.
