Heffron
Heffron is the packaging design for a rum produced by a Czech distillery. The rum honors the Czechoslovak legions, who fought in Russia between 1914 and 1918 and helped establish the Czechoslovak Republic. Heffron is the name of the last ship that carried the legionnaires from Russia to Europe. The design is inspired by the letters the soldiers sent home during the long journey. The transparent glass bottle holds 500 ml. The label is made of textured cream paper with a letter stamp perforation die cut and local gloss varnish, printed in three colors.
Heffron Spirits and Alcohol by Martin Zouhar has been identified as an outstanding example of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Heffron Spirits and Alcohol was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2021. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize that honors superior design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
