Shangri La
Shangri La is a packaging design for a series of three red wines. The labels use traditional Oriental ink painting textures to suggest the flow of wine and the trunk of an old vine. Placed side by side, the three packages form one winding trunk. Each package carries an animal from the producing area: a butterfly for air, a fish for water and a pika for soil. The labels are made of kapok paper with a rough surface, and embossing forms the texture of old bark. The design draws attention to traditional art and to the natural environment.
Shangri La Red Wine by Pufine Creative has been identified as a creative example of communication design by the A' Design Award. Shangri La Red Wine won the Silver A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2021. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition that honors exceptional design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
