Ring
Ring is a bookshelf inspired by the golden ratio and by the Vitruvian Man of Leonardo da Vinci. A metal sheet is bent by hand into a circle and fixed to a solid wooden base. Brass rods are placed at equal distances on the base and form the square that completes the golden ratio outline. The rods pass through holes in three of the five shelves, while the two other shelves rest on bent rods. Ring can stand against a wall or divide two areas of a room. The design is intended as a keeper of knowledge.
Ring Bookshelf by Kawn Designs has been featured as an outstanding example of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Ring Bookshelf received the Silver A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2021. The A' Furniture Design Award is a highly prestigious international design prize that honors superior design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
