Crosscut Cabouchon
Crosscut Cabouchon is a jewellery collection of brooches, rings and earrings. Ethically mined opals from Australia are held within boldly coloured settings. Corian from interior offcuts is carved by hand, and aluminium recycled from laptop cases is anodised to add colour. Gold and silver recycled from estate jewellery are fabricated with traditional goldsmith skills. Controlled heat allows the gems to be set directly into the Corian without adhesive. The collection invites wearers to see classic gemstones in a different light.
Crosscut Cabouchon Jewellery by Lingjun Sun was selected as a grand example of fashion design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Crosscut Cabouchon Jewellery received the Silver A' Design Award in Jewelry Design in 2021. The A' Jewelry Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize which honors superior design of rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, brooches, pendants, cufflinks, anklets and more.
