Butterfly
Butterfly House is a residential interior design for a villa of 800 square meters. The home serves both as a dwelling and as a setting for an art collection. A gold lacquer screen from the Kangxi period, an Italian Art Deco bench with yellow corduroy upholstery and an eighteenth century French cabinet with inlaid fine wood greet visitors at the entrance. A stainless steel rockery sculpture stands in front of the entrance hall. The planning is restrained and precise, balancing the collection, the functions of the house and comfort. Construction ran from 2016 to 2019.
Butterfly Residential by Chi Chenping has been highlighted as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Butterfly Residential received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design competition which recognizes outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
