Culture and Elegance
Culture and Elegance is a residential interior design for a 200 square metre house completed in 2018 in Taichung, Taiwan. The living room, the reading area and the dining room are connected in an open layout, and the absence of partitions lets natural light reach the interior. Grey mirrors on the walls guide the light further. Pale marble sets the basic tone, while one highlight is placed in each space, such as the curved red chair in the living room. Solid wood shutter blades with adjustable angles control the afternoon sun and reduce energy use.
Culture and Elegance Residential Space by Shu Na Hung was highlighted as a grand example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Culture and Elegance Residential Space was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition which honors excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
