State of the Art
State of the Art is a residential interior design completed in Taipei, Taiwan. The project covers 165.3 square metres and renovates an old house with a narrow, long plan and a maze-like layout. Walls were removed and repositioned to reorganise the circulation and the room arrangement. Comprehensive storage is provided, and the lighting problem is resolved. Recycled and eco-friendly materials are used, including wooden flooring made from recyclable sawdust, eco-friendly coatings and germ-free panels with class I flame resistance.
State of the Art Residential Space by Yi-Hua Li has been highlighted as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. State of the Art Residential Space received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program that celebrates outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
