Sunac Chongqing A One
A One is a mixed use retail building in Chongqing, China. The complex stands in the financial district of Jiangbeizui and is surrounded on three sides by parks, with a 270 degree view of the river. The design follows the idea of a city in the clouds, where the podium forms the cloud layer. Horizontal metal lines, ultra clear glass and stripes of colored glazed glass create changing light, shadows and reflections through the day. A large overhang shapes the northern and eastern sides. A green courtyard links the podium with the towers.
Sunac Chongqing A One Mixed Use Retail by Aico Ltd was highlighted as an innovative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Sunac Chongqing A One Mixed Use Retail was awarded the Golden A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2021. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program that celebrates exceptional design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
