Hi Q Brown Algae Life Square is an exhibition center in Songshan District, Taipei City, Taiwan. The two-story venue connects an exhibition and sales area, a restaurant, classrooms and research offices. Fresh ingredients, facial masks, health supplements and pet products are sold in the first floor experience area. Gentle colors and organic curved lines suggest the flow of the sea. The walls are finished with a diatomite imitation coating, and the wooden ceiling forms flowing curves. Wooden shapes hung on steel bars recall brown algae molecules.
Hi Q Exhibition Center by CHUN YING LAI has been highlighted as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Hi Q Exhibition Center won the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program which honors superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
