Fibonacci Spiral
Fibonacci Spiral is an industrial park planned for intelligent medicine in Shanghai. The site is surrounded by rivers that divide it into several islands, with the Dynamic Island at the center. Spiral sequences replace the central radial structure and link all the islands through boulevards. Circular podiums hold a testing center, an exhibition center, offices and social spaces. Most points lie within 300 meters of the Dynamic Island, where restaurants, shops, cafeterias and fitness rooms are placed. The islands create varied waterfront public spaces.
Fibonacci Spiral Industrial Park by Liu Jinrui has been identified as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Fibonacci Spiral Industrial Park was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Urban Planning and Urban Design in 2021. The A' City Planning and Urban Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition that honors outstanding design of masterplans, zoning proposals, infrastructure designs, landscape blueprints, public space concepts, urban renewal projects, transit oriented developments, sustainable city designs and more.
