Calm and Repose
Calm and Repose is a residential building with a floor area of 430 square meters. The design follows a modern and simple style. Plain textures and quiet materials are used across the indoor space. Large stone grain tiles cover the television wall and give a broad sense of sight to those entering the house. Behind the sofa, leather panels in irregular sizes and brushed wood veneers extend from the floor. The cool texture of the stone tiles is balanced by the warm texture of the leather and the wood. The rooms are opened to views of the surrounding nature.
Calm and Repose Residential Building by Chi Wei Lin and Yu Chih Chang was highlighted as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Calm and Repose Residential Building earned the Iron A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2020. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design prize which rewards outstanding design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
