The Roots
The Roots is a pair of cufflinks designed for daily wear and for social events. The cufflinks are made of 14 karat white gold and are set with a princess cut blue sapphire of 0.36 carats. Each piece measures about 15 by 15 millimetres and weighs 8.40 grams. The square form carries a traditional ornament inspired by carpets woven by women in the Balkans region. Surfaces are polished, sand blasted, coated with decorative dye or plated with black rhodium. The aim is to join inherited ornament with a simple modern shape.
