Sunshine Home
Sunshine Home is a residential interior design for a three-level unit of 290 square meters. The original basement was fully enclosed, and the upper levels were closed on three sides, so ventilation and lighting were poor. Four patios were built in the basement to connect it with the level above and to bring in daylight and fresh air. The staircase was rebuilt as a straight diagonal run through all three floors to guide the flow of air. Light tones are used throughout. The lower level now holds a study, a tea room and a fitness space.
Sunshine Home Residence by Wanxiao Zhang was recognized as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Sunshine Home Residence was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program which recognizes superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
